Week 2: Osamu Tezuka

Starting out on the first chapter in Ayoko soldiers from the war come back on a ship and happy to see familiar faces again. This story focuses on one particular soldier and how so much has changed around him while he was gone. The crazy part that surprised me is when he went to the general headquarters was when he got to the office and literally take his eye patch off, and pulls out a small rolled-up note. He just stuck in hand in this empty hole where his eye is supposed to be like it was nothing! After that, he goes on traveling with the family to find out who the child is actually from and the ending of this chapter who it shocks them all.

Wow, the manga  Nausicaa Of the Valley of the Wind  looks like the type of adventure I dream of going on. It's so action pack and even though the manga is in black and white, the crosshatch and line work of art goes great with it. The mange is rough, a little realistic, completely out of this world creatures and situations.  I swear I've seen this style before in an anime where these 2 children end up in another world in the sky because of a special necklace. I only checked out the first chapter, but if I were to continue with this series, I rather see it in motion because it would be more impactful and could get an, even more, an understanding of certain scenes.

Week 7: Shonen

It might be just me but when reading the first chapter of Bakuman my eyes got lost a couple times in the order I needed to go in. Anyway, this manga caught me off guard in the beginning. I thought it was gonna be another love story, but then it quickly changes to two guys becoming mangakas. I only read several pages because it didn't grab my attention as much, but I think it's a type of manga I never heard of before.
